In October 2019, just before the last council election, I attended the regular City Council Meeting and stood up to speak at public comment on a whim. I was struck by how divided our City had become, and pointed out how despite us seeming to agree on most of what we want for the future of San Bruno, we spend most of our energy arguing about the few things we disagree about. I expressed hope that after the election we could come together to solve our shared problems.
Months later, we are still struggling. San Bruno began the year facing yet another huge budget deficit; a continuation of years of financial turmoil and made much worse by unexpected closures of businesses. That $4M deficit doubled practically overnight due to losses created by the COVID-19 pandemic. Our businesses are struggling, our tax revenue is way down. And yet still we bicker over how to prioritize and address these challenges, and stand in the way of any real change.
It’s time to do better. It’s time to put San Bruno first.
About My Campaign
My campaign will accept monetary and in-kind donations only from friends and family, and residents and businesses from here in San Bruno.
I will not fill your mailbox with an endless stream of expensive campaign literature sponsored by outside interests. My grassroots campaign gets its strength from a dedicated team of San Bruno residents who, like me, long for change and are willing to get out and work for it.
